Communication is vital amongst people. Translators and interpreters’ job is to enable, among others, people who cannot speak a certain language can communicate with others, companies can offer their products and services in different markets, and so we can enjoy any content in our mother tongue as the speakers of the other language would do in the original version.

My name is Miguel Moclán, I am an English-Spanish sworn translator and interpreter based in Spain. I also translate from Japanese and Portuguese. I have been offering my translation, interpreting and proofreading services to both private individuals and companies since 2017. In addition, with later developments in technology, I’ve been offering postediting to my linguistic services.

Besides, I am an ELE and Japanese teacher.

English-Spanish sworn translation

What is a sworn translation? When you need to turn over to the public administration any supporting document, certificates, language qualifications, or medical records written in another language, they will require a sworn translation to attest to its truthfulness. Appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, a sworn translator attests these translations are true and accurate to the original document content and make it official by stamping and signing them. Currently, it is also possible to request them digitally using a digital signature, and also in writing.

Postediting

As technology evolves, new automated tools are appearing to streamline translation times. Postediting brings the human and quality touch to these new services so requested by companies nowadays.

Interpreting

Today, the need for immediate communication with a variety of people has become communicate has become more evident. Both in working environments and in everyday life. Since 2017, I have been working as a remote interpreter in several areas: Social Services, Public Information Services, Insurance Companies, Hospitals, etc.

Copy, style and content editing

A second opinion always improves the quality of any product. In terms of texts, copy and style editing is the second level that guarantees the message reaches efficiently and smoothly the receiver.

About me

I have a Degree in Translation and Interpreting with a legal and economic specialisation from the University of Valladolid. After graduating, I got the English-Spanish Sworn Translator title granted by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. In addition, I obtained the DUPLE C2 certificate in Portuguese and the Nihongo Nōryoku Shiken N1 in Japanese; I also trained as a copy and style editor and ELE teacher.

After several years of working for several companies, in 2017, after 3 years living in Japan, I started my journey as a freelance translator. Since then, I have been working with clients to find a solution for their different linguistic needs.
